Susan Grossman Biography

My career has spanned thirty years in the media as a freelance journalist, travel writer, magazine editor and BBC broadcaster. I am currently a visiting lecturer in journalism, on the MA at Westminster University, at City University, City Lit and Arcadia where I supervise international students interning in various disciplines.

I draw on various disciplines in my coaching including NLP, Art Therapy and TA (Transactional Analysis) and hold a certificate in 'coaching in the workplace' from the Institute of Leadership and Management (ILM).

I work face-to-face or in-house with my clients, or increasingly on Skype. My clients include freelance journalists, non-fiction writers, older people looking to engage with social media and professionals at a crossroads in their careers or dealing with difficult situations at work. 

My corporate work covers editorial team training in-house, working with CEOs or start-ups and with non-fiction authors. I have a reputation for being, with permission a challenging and intuitive coach.

BIOGRAPHY

I'm a London-based editor, BBC broadcast journalist, lecturer and travel writer with thirty years media experience under my belt. For the last ten years or so I have been a Visiting Lecturer on the MA in journalism at Westminster university and Lecturer at City University and the City Lit.

Mentoring freelance journalists has always been part of what I do. After qualifying as an ILM coach I now work across all sectors. focusing on work-based issues, leadership and management, career progression, digital and editorial content and presentation and communication skills.  I also run the JournoAnswers community on Facebook. I also run summer schools at City Lit (travel writing) and Marlborough College in Wiltshire (Thinking Outside the Box and Social Media for the Terrified).
